With Phoenix being so close to L.A., the city is closer than what it seems. This record is the raw soundtrack of that bridge connecting the Phoenix hip hop into into the L.A. Underground. At the end of the day, my whole goal with this music was to finally get it out to my fans. You all have been waiting on this project, staying patient while I perfected the sound, and I wasn't going to make you wait a second longer. Sonically, we're taking the music back to the roots, but with a whole different energy: Old-School Hip Hop Beats (With a Different Pocket): We got the heavy, neck-snapping drums and soul samples, but I'm catching a completely different pocket on these tracks. None of that tired, "lyrical miracle" fast-rap flow everybody is sick of hearing in modern hip hop. It’s about riding the beat, catching a real vibe, and keeping it effortless. West Coast Bounce: Hard-hitting bass, smooth G-funk synths, and that unmistakable riding music made for the highway. Late-Night Slow Joints: Stripped-back, soulful tracks to cool the tempo down and let the real storytelling take over. I didn't want to dilute the music with months of teasers, and I definitely didn't want the industry middle-men dictating how this gets to you.
