Vocal just ran a piece called "Phoenix Rappers to Watch in 2026: The Next Wave," and I made the list. It's not just me on there. Touré Masters, Fe'La Iniko, Murkemz, and Sincerely Collins are all named too, real artists building real things in this city right now, each in a different lane. The piece also runs through the foundation this current wave is standing on: MC Magic, Injury Reserve, Mega Ran, Willy Northpole, Futuristic, the names that made Phoenix hip hop worth talking about before any of us showed up. Being named alongside all of that means something. This city doesn't hand out attention easily, and it shouldn't. The scene here has always been built by people doing the work quietly, show by show, upload by upload, without waiting on anybody else's permission to call it real.
